We’re revving up for TWSS 2015 and have so many new + exciting details to share with all of you. While we cross our i’s and dot our t’s, we wanted to spot light a few amazing, local women in our community through our 7 Q+A’s. Or as we refer to it in the moffice, acceptable stalking. First up!

Whatever circle of people you may know Justine through, she’s the one in the group you want to be better friends with, right? Whether inspired by her photography, wanting to buy everything at her co-curated The Made Fest (part of The Pygmalion Festival), or catching up on local tid-bits on Smile Politely (which she co-founded)…. We can’t get enough of Justine Bursoni!

Justine Bursoni

What are you grateful for today?
Not floundering.

Tell us about one of your friends and what you love about her.
Naming just one doesn’t seem possible — but, what I love about each of my solid friendships is us being able to pick up right where we left off and not missing a single beat.

Describe one of the best days of your life.
The day I birthed my son. I’ve never felt more challenged and determined. It was me verses myself verses my offspring. We all worked together and all of us won.

What’s the best lesson you learned from your mother/grandmother?

Make a song out of everything and anything.

We’re all unique. What is your special gift?
No one can tell me no. If I want to do it, I will. I’m stubborn. I wouldn’t call it a special gift though. Sometimes I have to learn the hard way because of that attitude. I would say it makes me, me.

What could women be doing to make their community a better place?
Support one another, speak to one another, and listen.

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
I would move very far away and live outside of my comfort zone.

Okay, I know I’m late to the party but this is my home race! I train in Iroquois Park! I know every hill, turn and pothole they have there my puppy, Daphne, has roleld in every stinky, sticky, dirty, dead thing in that park! I so wish I was there to see you then. I was running Big Sur that weekend! Anders actually was suppose to stay with me but I got him with my running partner, since I was not going to be there. I am so happy it was a good race for you and I hope you will come back because we owe you some free beer!
