We’re incredibly excited to have Amasong joining the stage at That’s What She Said this year, so we’re gathering up some 7 Q+A’s from these amazing ladies! First up, is board convener and Soprano I section leader, Suzanne Linder.

What are you grateful for today?
My basement craft room / making space

Tell us about one of your friends and what you love about her.
My friend Renee is currently on vacation and I’m really missing our summer afternoon cribbage games. I love that we can go from serious conversation to serious competition in the space of a single afternoon.

Describe one of the best days of your life.
Yesterday was a pretty good day. It started with an early breakfast at the Original Pancake House with my parents, spouse, and one of our children. Then we came home and I read my book on the back porch until lunch time. My spouse and I took a picnic to Lake of the Woods and then went for a slow ride on country roads on his motorcycle. Came home and took a nap and then had dinner at the new Italian pizza place in downtown Champaign. We finished the evening snuggling on the couch and watching an episode of Orphan Black.

What’s the best lesson you learned from your mother/grandmother?
Hospitality.

We’re all unique. What is your special gift?
I can learn a roomful of names in an hour.

What could women be doing to make their community a better place?
Be involved in activities that they love—sing in a choir, join a board, fundraise for an organization you care about.

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
Drive my own motorcycle.
