After eighteen years in the classroom, Kerry Rossow left teaching and found her writing voice on her blog, HouseTalkN. Sharing her life shenanigans, Kerry is a weekly columnist at In The Powder Room. In 2013, following the motto leap and the net will appear, Kerry joined a mission trip to Haiti, became a published author of the best selling anthology, I Just Want To Pee Alone and You Have Lipstick on Your Teeth, and took to the stage as part of the cast in Listen To Your Mother.
Kerry lives in Illinois with her patient husband, her embarrassed children and her naughty dog. She is the mom that makes you feel better about yourself. Email Kerry.

Anni Poppen’s first gig as a designer was while working at Bacaro, people would ask who did the business cards—they were sent to the back to meet the dish washer. After freelancing, she became the first employee at Surface 51, an incredible marketing firm in Champaign. From there she joined the Krannert Center team, where she learned the importance of designing to make the world a better place. As a result, in 2013 Anni started Mowgli Studio... Graphic artivism for pivotal nonprofits and socially responsible businesses.
Amanda got her start more than 10 years ago creating videos, and since moving to Champaign in 2009 has produced pieces for 40 North, The News-Gazette, Visit Champaign County, United Way of Champaign County, City of Urbana, Hyatt Place and many more. As a single mom who has no filter, Jen has no doubt that her kids will all need therapy at some point in their lives. After teaching preschool for three years, Jen started working for the University of Illinois Athletic Department. While there, she worked with the golf program and helped organize the Steve Stricker Illini Golf Classic for several years. Jen can now be found working for the Chancellors Office at the University of Illinois.
Jen resides in Champaign with her three children, a bunny named Mo, and Brinkley, the golden retriever that won’t retrieve! Jen braved the stage in 2014’s That’s What She Said to confront her fears of being in the spotlight and public speaking.
Sharon has a vision to reinvent the wealth management experience. In 2004, she co-founded Sterling Wealth Management and began a professional “family”. Creating a firm focused on approachability in financial matters along with showcasing clients’ total wealth (what one has AND who they are) is what gets Sharon excited about every day. She has a strong interest in the challenges facing women investors and is currently part of ongoing national research focused on women of wealth as well as co-author of a paper on the Sandwich Generation Woman. Community is the best, so she spends a lot of time investing in it.
Sharon doesn’t like to leave a hand unshaken or a smile go unnoticed. She has figured out how to work alongside her husband every day and juggle the daily schedules of two active boys…all while drinking just decaf coffee.
