That’s What She Said is a platform for everyday women to share their extraordinary stories.
It all began when three friends had a desire to make the world a better place for their daughters, for your daughters, for everyone’s daughters. While sitting on the patio, watching their girls playing in the yard, their musings turned into the idea of the first live story-sharing experience, and The She Said Project was born.
That’s What She Said became a platform to showcase women living boldly, truly, fearlessly. The goal was clear, to empower women, build community and give a voice to stories that need to be told.
The first show was such an immediate success, it turned into another. Then another. And soon an entire community of women supporting women was born.
The She Said Project grew only more inspired at the vast number of women with amazing stories to share, they expanded into a blog, the podcast, and virtual shows that connected women from different communities.
The She Said Project continues to ebb and flow, evolve and grow. After celebrating five years of powerful, sold-out live performances for the women of Champaign-Urbana, we decided to grow our mission of women supporting women through the power of storytelling to other communities across the globe. We launched the first show in Bloomington, IL in 2019 to a packed house and started thinking about how we could share TWSS with more communities.
2022 will bring live events in our flagship city of Champaign-Urbana, IL, St. Louis, MO, Allentown, PA, Peoria, IL, Bloomington, IL, Faribault, MN, Chattanooga, TN, Charlotte, NC, … and we are just getting started.
That’s What She Said features stories that will make you belly laugh, ugly cry and everything in between. We tell the stories of life’s triumphs and trials. We tell the stories of women just like you.
The She Said Project is also committed to serving the communities that host That’s What She Said events, and require that a percentage of ticket proceeds support local non-profit organizations.
