Meet Angie Heaton… Angie was one of the first women that we met through the She Said Project. Here is why we love her:

1. What are you grateful for today?
Today I am grateful to be alive. I woke up feeling healthy, and happy, and mostly sane! (aside from a few symptoms of PMS!!)
2. Tell us about one of your friends and what you love about her.
I want to tell you about Amy Armstrong. Several times in my life, like tiny miracles, people have been put in my path exactly when I felt like I needed them. Amy is one of those people. I love that Amy is always in the solution of this life. I have only known Amy for a short time, but in that time I have learned a lot about love, compassion, honesty, forgiveness, and humility, and just being who you are. With Amy, what you see if what you get, and I appreciate that so much in a person. To boot, Amy is one of the funniest people I know, and I LOVE to laugh. Amy shines a wonderful, beautiful, light into the world. Do you know her?
3. Describe one of the best days of your life.
One of the best days of my life was last year at Keawakapu beach on Maui. I had just lost my 19 year old cat, Dale, and my job of 17 years. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with my life, but some friends of mine invited me to come to Maui to work for them. I did, after some encouragement from a dear friend. (who needs to be encouraged to work on Maui?…**raises hand**scaredy cat**)
I was at the beach alone…I felt one with the earth, grounded (which I rarely feel). I was soaking up the sun, and tasting the salt water, and I felt so safe and loved in the universe. That day I felt peace, and serenity, and like everything was OK in the world. I remember coming home and telling my friends “That was best day of my life so far!!” (I also remember that they looked at my in a shocked stare, probably thinking…’wow, she’s easy to please!’)
4. What’s the best lesson you learned from your mother/grandmother?
I’m actually writing a book about the Top 10 things I learned from my mother…there are some good ones. But today I’ll share this. “EVERYTHING that’s on your mind doesn’t have to come off your tongue”…This is good advice for a gal like me. And it has taken me years to learn this to be true, and to put it into action. Although it’s progress, right? Not perfection? I was born without that editing tool that helps one keep their mouth shut, or at least decide what actually comes out. **shrugs**
5. We’re all unique. What is your special gift?
I’ve written some songs.
6. What could women be doing to make their community a better place?
Be more supportive of one another. Figure out what drives us to be driven with fear, and instead move forward in love. Can you imagine what women could do if we all worked together for the greater good. (also, this is a great place to add that I love and appreciate what you are doing with TWSS!!)
7. What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
“Dance like no one is watching”…ie. EVERYTHING!
