1. What are you grateful for today?
I am grateful for the wonderful people I surround myself with. I choose to spend my professional and personal time with people that appreciate every day and the big and small blessings they have.

2. Tell us about one of your friends and what you love about her.
I met my best friend in college at the University of Illinois during our junior year of college. Although we now live 3 hours away from each other she has been an amazingly supportive person during my darkest days.  She is my rock and supports me always. I can only hope that I give that to her too.

3. Describe one of the best days of your life.
Fortunately there are a lot of best days of my life; the day I married my best friend, the days I gave birth to each of our children, and even the small events that have taken place in my life. But the most significant time in my life was the 18 days I got to spend with my son before he passed away.  That was the darkest time of my life and still kills my heart that he is not here with us. However I have learned through that experience to appreciate all the little blessings that each day brings.

4. What’s the best lesson you learned from your mother/grandmother?
My grandmother taught me unconditional love and understanding. She was an amazing woman who impacts my decisions and attitude to this day.

5. We’re all unique. What is your special gift?
I think my special gift is to connect with people and make them feel special. I like everyone and want to help when I can.

6. What could women be doing to make their community a better place?
Women need to support each other instead of tear each other apart. Find your special strengths and use them to help others; don’t hurt others to make yourself feel better. That reflects poorly on you.

7. What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
If I wasn’t afraid I would bungee jump.  I just don’t know if I can take that step over the edge.
